Friend Recommendation System using Location-Based Social Networks
Authors- M.Tech. Scholar Ravi Kumar Sahu, Assistant Professor Abhilasha Vyas
Abstract- Friend recommendation is one of the most popular characteristics of social network platforms, which recommends similar or familiar people to users. The concept of friend recommendation originates from social networks such as Twitter and Facebook, which uses friends-of-friends method to recommend people. We can say users do not make friends from random people but end up making friends with their friends’ friends. The existing methods have narrow scope of recommendation and are less efficient. We propose a new friend recommendation model to overcome the shortcomings of existing system. For better friend recommendation system with high accuracy, we will use collaborative filtering method to compare similar, dissimilar data of users and will make a recommendation system which gives user to user recommendation based on their similar choices, activities and preferences. Location based friend recommendation system are becoming popular because it brings physical world to digital platform and gives better insight of user’s preferences or interest This recommendation system will increase the scope of recommendation from one user to other with similar set of interest and their location.
Design and Development of a Combined Water Storage & Hydrokinetic Power Generation System (HPGS)
Authors- Rogelio C. Agbanlog, Dr. Lee Roy Bronner
Abstract- This research study was conducted to explore the feasibility of designing a Hybrid Hydrokinetic Power Generation System that will be integrated to a water distribution system. The system will be constructed for supplying power and water to a model rural community comprised of 36 household families. The system was designed using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. The design consisted of the following components: an elevated water storage tank, a Water Purification System, Hydrokinetic Turbines coupled to Electric Generators, a Pressure Booster Pump, the Water Re-Circulation Chambers, a supplemental Solar Power Generator System, and a Powerhouse/Power Distribution System. Hydrological calculations were performed to determine the head requirement for the Pressure Booster Pump (HPBP) which is the difference between the Net Positive Head (NPH) and the Net Negative Head (NNH) of the system. The supplemental Solar Power Generator System shall supply power to the Pressure Booster Pump that will generate the required head to raise the water back to the elevated water tank. A prototype unit was constructed to present the basic technical principles and operation of the system.
Incident Detection and Automatic Alert System
Authors- Prithi S , Harinath D, Harini S, Kishore A
Abstract- Hazardous incidents usually occur without any prior knowledge. Those treacherous incidents result in a heavy impact on society or individuals when left unnoticed. Considering the event of wild animal intrusion into villages residing at the borders of forest areas, if left unnoticed it might end up in the loss of lives. In recent years, over 450 domestic animals were killed in the attacks by wild animals including tigers and elephants. This resulted in compensation of Rs.110 lakhs paid by the Forest department of India. Detecting such events and performing respective actions may reduce the pessimistic impact level of the event. The incident must be detected and alert the appropriate teams who are intended to handle that incident, thereby reducing the repercussions. This work presents an application of data mining on incident data to detect the level of incident impact. This model uses public datasets from various sources containing more than a thousand records from the past. The goal is to generate a detection model that will be able to identify possible risk situations based on important input factors extracted from the dataset with the best possible precision.

Abstract- The Vision of this project is to ensure fair price to the farming community by devising new techniques and by making use of online market. An application, that serves as a platform for movement of agricultural products from the farms directly to the consumers or retailers. This mobile and web application provides privilege for both farmers and consumers or retailers to buy and sell the required farm products without the involvement of a middleman at its right profitable price. The agriculture experts shall analyze the product that comes into this platform, approve it and provide ratings based on quality. This makes all the available farm products easily accessible. Hence it provides freedom of pricing and freedom of access. Through this we can ensure farmers to make selling decisions most advantageously.

Image Search using Hybrid Techniques
Authors- M.Tech. Scholar Sakina Bohra, Assistant Professor Lokesh Parashar
Abstract- To retrieve important images from a dissimilar collection by using visual queries as search arguments are the arduous and substantial open problems. In this paper the writers have mentioned the designs and implementations of a simple yet very effective Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system. The colors, textures and the shapes features are the vital parts of this system. With the three main consequent searching steps the searching becomes multilevel. Such propounded systems are very unique as they consider one feature at each step and use the results of the previous step as the input for the next coming step in multilevel pattern whereas in the earlier methods all the features are combined at once for the single-level search of an average CBIR system. The propounded method is very simple and comfortable to adopt. The retrieval grade of the propounded method is valuated using bi-benchmark datasets for an image classification. The above system of methods shows very good results in terms of amelioration in retrieval qualities, when compared with the literature. In proposed work we get accuracy like between 68.15 % to 94.86% in used different features.
Comparative Analysis of the FTTH and CATV
Transmission Systems
Authors- Parveen
Abstract- Fibers to the Home networks have always been the ultimate solution of the future proof, broadband access network. In the past, the major obstacle of implementing FTTH has been cost, coupled with the lack of symmetrical, bandwidth intensive applications. In recent years, however there have been several technological, commercial and regulatory developments that brighten the outlook on FTTH. The most challenging part of current internet development is the access network as the part of global communication infrastructure. As bandwidth demands for multimedia applications increases continuously, user requires broadband and flexible access with higher bandwidth and low cost. To provide the service to the number of users amplifier is used named by the Optical Amplifier Semiconductor model, which will amplify the signal to reduce the signal distortion. The simulation analysis is occurred in this work with the 1.25 Gbps and 2Gbsp data rate of the speed of information data. As the BER is the very common factor in the transition of the analog and digital signal. The area for the service providing is trying to increase to provide the service to the maximum number of users. There is the variation in the data rates and the parameters of the BPON with the variations in the sample formats for the FTTH. After the analysis, it is concluded that the FTTH transition service is much better than the transmission technique of the CATV. As in this try to increase the bandwidth and minimize the BER by varying optical distance and users bit sequence in BPON network, there are drastic variations in power budget of BPON. So this work is emphasized to address certain issues related to the BPON and compare it with the CATV.

Authors- Research Scholar D. Damodara Reddy, Professor Dr. G. R. Selokar (Supervision)
Abstract- In the development of internal combustion engines, there has been a continuous effort to reduce fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. Improved fuel efficiency with reduced exhaust gas emissions is one of the major challenges that engineers and scientists in the automotive industry and are facing. Also in recent years there has been great concern that, the internal combustion engine is predominantly responsible for atmospheric pollution, which is detrimental to human health and environmental damage. Consequently, research engineers have been striving to reduce the quantity of pollutants emitted from exhaust system without sacrificing power and fuel consumption. Further, the load controls in these engines are performed through throttling, which is mainly responsible for poor part load efficiency. In SI engines, the compression ratio is restricted by the combustion process, but the expansion ratio can be extended. To achieve lean combustion the following modification were done, combustion chamber was modified to enhance and swirl and squish, copper as a catalyst was coated on the cylinder head and piston crown, and high energy transistorized coil ignition (TCI) system was used to ignite lean mixture.
